In 2007, our family relocated from Wichita, Kansas to Gjøvik, Norway. It has been a grand adventure and a work in progress. We have had a lot of fun and shed a lot of sweat and tears.
We plan to have a lot of fun in Norway and do lots of travel in Europe and beyond, using Norway as a launching point.
The relocation is intended to last an indefinite period.
During the summer months we enjoy L-O-N-G days. These are some photos of the sunsets that take place late into the "night".
We bought a new car recently. We haven't named it yet. So far so good...we really like it. Thanks Skoda! The true test will be how it drives in the snow and on ice. It is a 4x4 and we really needed it last winter. Sliding backwards out of our housing addition was not fun.
Farmers on the next mountain in our valley did some controlled burns a few months ago. I don't think I have posted these photos yet. Of course now the fields are full of sheep munching away and getting fat.
Norway is the land of rainbows. I am glad this photo kind of captures the double rainbow.
Not a lot of comments. I had a business retreat in Sweden. We stayed in an old convent turned into an upscale hotel. It was lovely. The food was great. Supposedly the place is haunted...????
We took an old ship on an 1.5 hour ride across a lake. Sorry for the photos quality...I used my mobile phone.
We toured a castle located along the shore near the convent/hotel. I took this photo of a mural painted on a wall of the ballroom. Our tour was at midnight and conducted by actors dressed in peroid costume. A lot of fun!
